Physgun – Germany Migration (Hardware & Network Upgrades) – February 10th - 12th, 2025
Location Affected: Frankfurt, Germany
Start Date: February 10th, 2025
Estimated End Date: February 12th, 2025
Summary: We're migrating all customer game servers, managed bare metal servers, and IPv4 prefixes from our Germany location to our brand-new London location.
Upgrades include:
Garry's Mod Servers: Upgraded from Ryzen 7 7700 CPUs to Ryzen 9 7950X CPUs.
Garry's Mod & Bare Metal Servers: Migrated to our new network core, modeled after our Chicago, IL setup for maximum reliability and scalability. This also includes upgraded on-site DDoS protection, and Path.net filtering.
Impact on Customer: We will be migrating all IPv4 addresses to London, which will result in some expected downtime. During the process, there will be a brief period where all traffic will drop before rerouting to London. Game servers will be moved in groups, but perfect synchronization isn't possible. We're taking every measure to minimize disruptions and will avoid peak hours.
