    Power Maintenance – September 19th, 2024

    Services Affected: Chicago, Illinois Data Center
    Start Date: September 19th, 2024 @ 9 AM ET
    Estimated End Date: September 19th, 2024 @ 6 PM ET

    Summary: SBA Edge will be performing minor equipment repairs to two (2) of the four (4) 1.6MW UPS systems. IT loads and peripheral systems are protected by (4) 2MW Caterpillar diesel engines. SBA engineering and necessary support personnel will be on-site.

    Impact on Customer: There is no expected interruption to service; however, transferring systems creates inherent risk. As a result, we have decided to notify our customers for transparency.

Physgun - Ger26 Hardware Issue

    Datacenter technicians identified a hardware failure with the server's mainboard and promptly replaced the machine with a hot spare. All data disks were successfully transferred to the new hardware, ensuring no data loss. The server has been fully restored and is back online. We appreciate your understanding and patience during this process.

    We are actively investigating the incident and have identified a potential hardware issue with the affected machine. The datacenter team has been notified and is currently conducting thorough diagnostic tests to confirm the problem. Once the faulty component is identified, we will expedite its replacement to restore full functionality as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this matter and will provide further updates as soon as more information becomes available.

WISP - Cloudflare Outage

    At 10:05 PM ET, WISP experienced a temporary service disruption due to an unexpected issue with Cloudflare's account system. Earlier in the day on August 29th (six hours earlier), our team finished migrations from the previous operator's Cloudflare account to our Infraly account. No interruption was expected from this as it was merely moving accounts no notice was given that it would cause disruption. However, Cloudflare's systems triggered the load balancers for the WISP front-end to disable, which required manual intervention to restore normal operations.

    As of 10:17 PM ET, WISP front-end services are back online and operating. No further disruptions are anticipated. We have brought this forward to Cloudflare's attention to hopefully prevent this from occurring on their platform in the future. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

    Summary: We will be conducting an upgrade on a single dark fiber connection between our facility at 603 Discovery Drive in West Chicago and 350 East Cermak Road in downtown Chicago.

    Impact on Customer: There is no expected interruption to service as redundant dark fiber connections will remain online and operational; however, there may be a temporary slowdown and/or increase in latency. As a result, we have decided to notify our customers for transparency.
